Our New Studio is Near

You may have noticed an odd quietness around the Advisor Studios camp . We have been busy as ever, hard at work producing videos and planning for the move to our brand new studio next month. We are a division of NorthStar Financial Services Group, LLC, who broke ground on a 60,000 square foot building in July of 2011. This building houses our state-of-the-art recording studio featuring a chroma green cyclorama wall, complete sound isolation and a separate control/editing room. You’ll see and hear more about the virtual set technology we are using, which will be fully implemented over the coming months.

This new space will allow us to offer an exceptional recording experience to you and increase productivity as we constantly strive to create the best content and hypermedia strategies possible. This is an exciting time for Advisor Studios, our sister companies and our clients. As has always been the case, we are most excited about helping companies, just like yours, communicate their message using modern media. Our goal is to help you continue the conversation with existing clients while starting the conversation with new ones.

New for Spring!

This morning, in a bit of shameless self promotion, we launched the spring edition of our overview video on the Advisor Studios homepage. It comes complete with a cleverly designed badge letting you know it is, in fact, new. (We did, however, stop short of calling it platinum or putting blue strips on it to let you know it’s cold enough.)

If you stick around to the end you’ll catch a glimpse of one of our new virtual sets, a technology we first debuted at the T3 Conference this February. The virtual set promises to be a big part of our business when we move into our new studio this June.

So why a virtual set? Just to be awesome? False. We’ve invested in this technology because we see tremendous potential for RIA’s and advisors creating market commentary.   Many are already writing their commentaries and opinions on a regular basis.  The possibilities are endless, and the environment is perfectly suited to walking clients through charts, graphs, and other insight. It also brings a very sophisticated production level to your product. It will enable you to not just surpass, but leap-frong ahead of your “I just hired some kid off craigslist to make me a video” competition. (Seriously, that stuff is out there.) It’s also surprisingly cost-effective. Having a set with multiple camera angles, set designs, and “screens” to display charts/graphs/etc., not only speeds up our production workflow, but significantly cuts down on post-production. This allows us to turn around timely market commentary faster, and equally as important: saves you money.

It is also, coincidentally, awesome.
